As air pollution becomes an increasingly urgent challenge in urban and industrial areas, developing domestic capabilities in environmental monitoring technology holds significant scientific and practical importance. In response to this need, Dr. Nguyen Van Thien and his research team at Hanoi University of Industry undertook a ministerial-level project assigned by the Ministry of Industry and Trade: “Research and design of a large-scale AQI monitoring system based on LoRa/IoT technology,” implemented from April 2021 to December 2022, with the goal of developing a commercially viable solution.

On January 27, 2026, Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) held a conference to review student affairs in 2025 and outline tasks for 2026, while awarding Nguyen Thanh Binh Scholarship Fund grants for the 2024–2025 academic year and Lunar New Year gifts for students with disabilities and orphaned students.

On January 23, Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) held the Review conference on digital transformation in 2025 and the implementation of the 2026 action plan. 2026 has been identified as a breakthrough year with a strong focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and data, aiming to build a smart university model and strengthen international integration. This strategic orientation demonstrates HaUI’s determination to move from process digitization toward data-driven governance.

The “Warm Winter in the Highlands” volunteer program organized by Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) took place in Tan Mai Commune, Phu Tho Province, from January 20 to 22, 2026. More than a charitable journey, the program carried not only material support but also the aspirations for meaningful contributions and the heartfelt dedication of young people. A total of VND 230 million, together with compassion and solidarity, was delivered, reflected in the hopeful eyes of local residents and students.

On the morning of January 6, 2026, Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) held a ceremony to announce the decision to establish 01 Strong Research Group and 11 Potential Research Groups. This event marks a pivotal shift in the University’s strategy for science, technology, and innovation, realizing the goals for the 2026–2030 period: transitioning to a group-based research model, increasing high-quality international publications, and accelerating technology transfer.

On the morning of December 30, 2025, Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) organized a training workshop entitled “Internal documentation and university governance in the context of HaUI’s institutional transformation.” The workshop aimed to enhance legal awareness and professional competencies among staff and employees, in response to the urgent requirements arising from HaUI’s transition to a university system model, which was officially approved by the Prime Minister in November 2025.

As 2025 drew to a close, Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) held a solemn ceremony to launch the HaUI Alumni Network. This strategic initiative serves as a bridge connecting the university’s rich 127-year heritage with its future aspirations, underscoring the enduring strength and unity of its academic community.
