On 31 May 2012, the Project organized the seminar on “development of partnerships between industry and schools” together with Hai Phong Industrial Vocational College (HPIVC).

Nomura-Hai Phong Industrial Zone, Vietnam Singapore Industrial Zone, Rorze Robotech, Toyoda Gosei Vietnam, Kyosera Vietnam, UNIDEN Vietnam, and a JICA expert in the Department of Planning and Investment in Hai Phong participated in this seminar.After HPIVC and HaUI presented overviews of their training programs and other activities, participants discussed about: (i) strength and weakness of HPIVC and HaUI graduates; (ii) skills and knowledge which students should learn in schools; and (ii) training demand for company employees. Some company representatives said that, while graduates from HPIVC and HaUI are disciplined and follow company rules, they lack ability to solve problems working by group and awareness of labor safety.Regarding training demand for company employees, some participants mentioned the importance of skills to design production jigs and knowledge of visual C-language programs to control various machines.Mr. Inagawa, Chief Advisor of the Project closed the seminar by emphasizing that industry and schools should have more frequent communication in order to develop human resources which meet industry needs.
