Partnership with Toyota Motor Vietnam Co., Ltd.

HaUI is trying to build win-win partnerships with enterprises, which enable HaUI to supply skilled technicians and enterprises to secure high-skilled human resources. Below is a successful case of partnership with Toyota Motor Vietnam Co, Ltd., which is a leading Japanese manufacturer of automobiles.

Toyota Technical Education Program for Body Repair and Paint (T-TEP)
1. The Toyota Technical Education Program for Body Repair and Paint (T-TEP) was launched in 2006 with technical assistances from Toyota Motor Vietnam. The Program started recruiting
students in 2007. The objective is to increase automotive mechanics who can work in service centers.
2. The T-TEP program has provided 6-month practical training for the students who studied automotive technologies. The program includes training for: painting and surface preparation; paint mixing; checking surface after painting; welding skills; body repair; and finishing repair. Also, students have opportunity to do internship in Toyota’s service centers. After completing courses, trainees will work in service centers for automobiles.
3. HaUI lecturers have been trained in Toyota’s service centers before providing training.
4. The T-TEP has trained about 297 technicians in 6 courses in 6 years.
Recruitment of Made-in HaUI Automotive Technicians
1. More than 250 automotive technicians, who graduated TTEP, have been working in Toyota’s service centers.
Exploring the partnership for increasing automotive
engineers in factories
1. HaUI launched the four-year university courses in 2006, in addition to college and secondary courses. The first batch of 82 students just graduated the Faculty of Automotive Technology in August 2010. HaUI has started discussing with some companies about how to increase automotive
engineers not only in service centers but also in manufacturing factories. HaUI is now considering
strengthening relevant educational and training subjects such as Quality Control and Production Management, based on industry’s needs.
